Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. The couple had separated and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. She was struggling to survive at the time she landed her first role in acting in the film Rachel's Room's leading character. The television film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she acted as a principal character for the initial two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace was forced to quit the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog earlier in the year 2005. She appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated interpretation that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two additional episodes, including the finale of the series. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. She plays Faith a groupie and her muse to the stars who captures the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's a Gyllenhaal. child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens She began working on small roles with her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko with her twin brother. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim in both of her roles as the main character of Secretary (2002), the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she received a nomination from The Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as a single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee as well as in the Big Bang and Hysteria. The actress also played the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action thriller that was released in 2013. She also played she was a musician in Frank (2014), and her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama that was released in the year of 2018. Gyllenhaal made her debut as a writer and director in 2021, with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
